Description

The present set-up is designed to determine the thermal conductivity of insulating powder. Thermal Conductivity of Insulating Powder Apparatus consists of two thinwalled concentric copper spheres of different diameter. Inner sphere houses Nichrome Wire heater and heat flows radially outwards. Insulating powder is filled between the annulus spaces of these two spheres. Temperature sensors at different positions are fitted to measure surface temperatures of spheres. Variac is provided to set the heat input, voltmeter &amemeter is provided for measurement of heat input
