Description

The present setup is designed to study the discharge over notches. It consists of a flow channel of sufficient length and width fitted with calming section and flow smoothening plates to achieve undisturbed flow. Set of three notches are provided which can be attached or detached easily at the end of flow channel without need of extra tool. A pointer gauge with Vernier scale is fitted to measure the height of fluid in flow channel. Centrifugal pump is used to re-circulate the water from sump tank to the flow channel and test section and is returned back to the sump tank. Flow diverter is provided to divert the flow either to measuring tank or sump tank. Experiments can be conducted on different flow rates and measured with the help of measuring tank with piezometer and stopwatch.
