Description

The setup consists of Bonnotto type extractor of slottedcircular plates arranged one above the other in oppositeradial opening. The solids are introduced at the topthrough a hopper spread over the top plate by a rack andpushed to slot to fall to the next plate below and so on tothe bottom of the column. The solvent is introduced nearthe bottom of the column and it flow upward countercurrentlyto the solids. A pump supplies the solvent andflow rate is monitored by means of a Rotameter. At thebottom of column a screw conveyor arrangement is doneto remove the extracted solids driven by means of anelectric motor. Solvent feed tank is kept in a bath fittedwith heater and digital temperature controller is used tomaintain the constant temperature.
