Description

DYNAMOMETER) The present set-up is designed to study characteristics ofa given centrifugal pump. The centrifugal pump is coupledto a swinging frame type DC Motor which permits directtorque measurement with the help of a spring balance. Aspeed control arrangement facilitates the end user tooperate the centrifugal pump at different speeds. Tocalculate the input power to the motor, an energy meteris provided. An RPM Indicator with Proximity sensorindicates the RPM of Pump. Present set-up is self-containedwater re-circulating unit, provided with a sumptank, centrifugal pump etc. Water is pumped by means ofcentrifugal pump and passing through the pipeline, itreturns back to the sump which make the system recirculatingtype. Flow of water is diverted either tomeasuring tank or sump tank with the means of a flowdiverter, when needed. Control valves and Pressuregauges are fitted in suction and discharge line of thecentrifugal pump to conduct the experiments on differenthead and flow. Flow rate of water is measured with thehelp of measuring tank with piezometer and stopwatch.The supplied set up is complete in all respect. Only water supply and electricity supply is to be provided by the enduser for running the set-up.
