Description

Experimental water-cooling tower is a forced draftcounter flow type cooling tower specially designed for the Engineering students to provide them insight aboutactual working of tower. In this system, air from a fanenters at the bottom of the tower and after passingthrough the mesh packing, discharges into theatmosphere via a duct. Airflow is controlled by a butterflyvalve on the blower's delivery line. Water is evenlydistributed over the packing by nozzles at top of thetower. Water flow and temperatures can be measuredand controlled with suitable instrumentation provided. Awater tank at the bottom fitted with level gauge enablesto show the exact evaporation loss. Front side acrylicsheet provides actual visualization of cooling toweroperation. Air and water flow rates as well as inlet watertemperatures can be varied to have different sets ofreadings.
